January 23 - National Protests

After finding out about Rick Simpson curing thousands with his engineered hemp oil, I have devoted my life to telling the story.  Battling on-going cancer in my family at the same time, (my father is meeting with Oncologist Dr. Hope on Wednesday at Princess Margaret Cancer Hospital in Toronto) has brought many of us 'like-minded' folks together for this cause.  (My nephew was to be in the forces now - as is our family tradition - at times of war - and peace) but instead pursues art and grassroots democracy with his partner who is a journalist working with us also to effect a regime change.

A few days ago, 2 big things happened:

a) One of Jack Herer's estate reps contacted me re: court in Oregon on Tuesday (getting Jack back to California to recover / sorting out his legal affairs in order that his book not be swallowed up or held up in court and gets published along with Rick Simpon's new one since they both tell the same story yet are being hunted/hounded/persecuted/red-taped/muzzled).

b) Rick Simpson also contacted me re: a Press Release and letter I wrote to him in November (before his raid) about my father, and seeking to know how I can help to tell this story.  He gave me his number and asked me to arrange for media relations interviews in order that this story be told in hopes of saving lives.

I published his letter to me (Jan. 20) and have now been contacted by Ron from The Medicinal Cannabis Journal (a by patients – for patients) publication from California.  His editor will be featuring the Run From the Cure: Rick Simpson Story (on the cover) in the upcoming issue.  They have also agreed to run PSA/PA (Public Service Announcements / Independent Political Advertising free of cost in order to raise funds and awareness. 

Our mission is to educate as many via the internet (which has now been extremely successful via Facebook / http://www.phoenixtears.ca / thymeforhemp.viviti.com / ourcanada.tk / etc), and by public announcements 15 / 30 sec. in duration beginning at each local radio station we can afford at 4:20 p.m. as many days as we can until 2 things happen:

1. Rick Simpson is a household name (i.e. the Run From the Cure story has been told); and,
2. People start sending MPs/MPPs to govern who care less about a caucus and party whips (i.e. party games / ‘special interests’ most ‘traditional’ political parties play), and more about saving lives, healing / caring for our sick.

Dear Jason,

I am very sorry your family had to learn the hard way what the medical system is all about. Unfortunately, it is not just the medical system but everything the government controls that is working against us all. I have been through the so-called legal system and the lawyers are just as bad as the doctors. Lawyers all know that the laws prohibiting hemp´s use are corrupt, but they like filling their pockets and will do nothing to change it. I approached this issue in the proper way right from the beginning, I hid nothing from the system or the public. Instead of investigating what I was saying about the healing power of this oil, the system persecuted me for supplying it. I guess they thought if they came down hard enough on me that I would just go away. This would allow them to continue with this insanity and of course, the bought and paid for media did nothing to bring the real truth to the public.

What people seem to miss is the fact that we are being controlled by these monsters with lies and deception. When the legal system refused to allow the patients to testify during my court case, that said it all. When you have people that used the oil to cure their terminal cancer ready to testify and their testimony is not allowed, that should tell you something about our system, I truly feel sorry for the Canadian people but I have done all I can possibly do. It is now up to the people themselves to finish the work I have started. All the public has to do is stand up for their rights and all this will come to an end. If they do not, the evil that is running our country will win and we will continue to suffer and die needlessly.

If I were in the public´s shows, I would not hold my breath waiting for the Canadian system to get anything right. Stand up and tell them you've had enough and if they refuse to act, they will face the consequences. I really don’t think the public will be in a very good mood when they learn the truth about what the so-called system has been doing to them. If anyone with the Canadian government has a brain in their heads, they will do something rational about this situation. If they refuse to act, then they are the ones putting themselves in harm´s way.

"This was a natural medicine that was used for thousands of years, No one has the right to say that they cannot grow this. That is insanity. If everyone knew what this medicine does, there would be a revolution". Canadian Rick Simpson is taking about the medical properties of the plant Hemp, which he refers to as a "Panacea", a cure-all. "This medicine treats everything, even the so-called incurable diseases". He asserts. Simpson is just an ordinary man with a simple message: That Hemp cures many ailments far more efficiently and without the adverse effects of pharmaceutical drugs. Yet instead of a reception fitting for a Canadian hero, Rick Simpson has been living in exile in Europe following an illegal raid on his property in Nova Scotia in November 2009. The event occured while Simpson was abroad receiving his "Freedom Fighter of the Year" Award.

Simpson insists that he's been doing pretty good for currently living in exile in the Czech Republic, where he has drafted a proposal to the government to supply Hemp Oil to the public. He is a man on a mission that could save countless lives, "What we're trying to do now is to find a country over there that would open the doors. They are much more open-minded over here than they are in Canada" says Simpson. When questioned about fundamental difference between North American and European societies in regards to their attitudes towards Hemp. Rick thinks that their more lax approach can be attributed to their history.

"Their history with Hemp dates back 26,000 years in the Czech Republic. They are not new to growing Hemp and using it" Simpson explained, adding his belief that "The European Countries are much more open-minded and they were not so affected as much by all the Reefer-madness nonsense".

In our own North American capitalist society, one needn't look far to find the cause of why knowledge of its immense beneficial properties have been suppressed in mainstream culture. There is much at stake for these pharmaceutical companies should it become incorporated into our culture. They have a monopoly on our health and they are abusing it with these harmful drugs that create dependencies and hinder so much as they heal. It is thus that Curing cancer has become inadverdently political, tied with gain and profit. Simpson reiterates his belief that as human beings, we have a right to life and to preserve our life - Hemp Oil is essential to this. Furthermore, Simpson stated that in the very near future we will see the people who have kept this beneficial life-saving substance brought to justice.

Simpson, who had worked in a hospital for 25 years, expressed his dismay and loss of faith in the heathcare system. "I used to think it stood for something" He says, "but doctors actively violate their oath not to administer poison - are we supposed to keep taking their chemicals and die on command for them?" Yet the public sits there and does nothing about it". Simpson agrees that the educational system should be reformed so that Students in medical school can be properly instructed, . Doctors are relying on their training and upholding their oath, but it is one which places them conflicted state for they're trying to help their patient but what happens when what they are administering is not helping but hindering? Rick expresses his belief that should the oil come out, many doctors will find themselves out of work. He refers to a convention held at McGill University. where 72 Oncologists were asked if they had cancer what would they do, with 59 declaring they would take no conventional treatments. "That should tell you something". He says. "Hemp is not addictive or harmful in anyway, the only thing you are guaranteeing yourself is a longer and healthier life"

Though he has testimonies that Hemp Oil has cured terminally ill patients, Simpson doesn't claim that he has found the cure for cancer. Merely that one can use the medicinal properties of this plant to treat a wide range of ailments to great effect, "So why on God's green earth aren't we using it?" he asks referring to the immense beneficial properties of Hemp. In the 1800s, It was common practice for the Drug companies to produce essential oil from plants and herbs. "All through history Hemp has been known as the most medicinal plant on earth. They were making the same oil that I've been healing everyone with" Simpson explaned.

"They sold watered-down Hemp based medicine, We haven't been able to find one drug company that sold the real essential Hemp Oil to the public - they made sure the public never got the real stuff." It may seem absurd that such a life-saving plant would not be widespread would be kept from the public, but the answer is quite simple. "They realized that Hemp is the cure-all, but the problem with that cure-all is that you can't patent it. All across North America people were freely growing it. So what would happen to these drug companies when these people were growing the miracle plant - Big money wanted Hemp gone"

But while Hemp presented a danger to all of these big money interests. these big money interests present a danger to us and mother earth.
"They're killing the planet and us with it. It has to come to an end, we have to go back to green alternatives" he insisted.

Should the cultivation of Hemp be encouraged, many of us will become self-sufficient and it will be catastrophic to the corporations that thrive in a world fueled by petro chemicals and political corruption. It runs so deeply in our infrastructure that fundamental changes will need be made to our current social and political society to foster a climate where Hemp and other alternative medicinal substances will be accepted, or at the very least - not persecuted.

With the present circumstances Simpson doesn't feel proud to be Canadian and has no plans to return to Canada until we begin progressing towards a condition where the corruption will be alleviated and he will be able to spread his message openly and publically. His sole goal being to educate the public while helping those in need.

"Right now, Canada is a Quasi-Police state" Simpson says sadly, referring to continuous efforts from police authorities to stop his work in helping his community, which culminated in the illegal raid on his house by RCMP officers. While he is currently focusing on building initiatives in Europe, he offers this advice to Canadians:

"We got to get rid of all the political parties. I've been to them all, these people won't do anything. They are all bought and paid for. The only hope that the Canadian people have are to start voting for people that run as independents. We need a think tank of the brightest and best in Canada, put the best minds together and let them make the decisions that run the country day-to-day with an open-book policy to the public, no more hidden meetings. And then you can govern for the people, Then you will have a real democracy"

Using Hemp as the crutch for political and social change, This task will not be simple nor will it be the work of anyone but the public themselves. These parties aren't going to willingly abdicate their power. While it may seem that such a radical change implies an upheaval of sorts, Simpson expressed that he doesn't want to see anarchy, people angry or seeking retribution. Though it is difficult to fathom how such a monumental change can occur without that happening, the first step to achieving that ideal, Simpson asserts is "that the people need honest representation" and they're never going to get it in Canada. They're not going to want to leave willingly, but the bottom line is: educating the people about what this medicine truly is.

Simpson stresses the importance at this point of educating the people. "When enough people become aware about what this medicine can do, all we need to do is get enough people to stand up and that will be the end of that system"

Emphasizing the importance of educating the public, there is definitely hope remaining for Canada. Despite driving a freedom fighter who should be revered away, we are not beyond redemption to mobilize a movement for change. By utilizing resources such as the internet in spreading information, we can encourage such a movement and start towards achieving this ideal that will be beneficial for not just cancer patients but the public and our earth. This is the impetus needed to reform our political and social structure, should we have any hope in surviving and thriving as free citizens and dignified human beings in the future.
